You will learn and reflect collaboratively through coursework, clinical experiences, experiential learning, community service, and professional development. The four pillars are interwoven throughout coursework, clinical experiences, enrichment activities, and other opportunities to emphasize critical themes essential to becoming a teacher and leader.

About the NC Teaching Fellows Program

The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is a competitive, merit-based forgivable loans for service program that provides up to $5,000 a semester ($10,000 a year) for up to four years to highly qualified students committed to teaching special education and elementary education or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field in a North Carolina public school.

Per G.S.116-209.62, the purpose of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is to recruit, prepare, and support students residing in or attending institutions of higher education located in North Carolina to become highly effective STEM or special education and elementary education teachers in the State’s public schools.
