Minimum Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled students at UNC Chapel Hill. In addition, applicants should be enrolled or planning to enroll in a major housed in the Department of Biology, the Department of Geology, the Department of Mathematics, or the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
The criteria for admission include, but may not be limited to, academic progress, two letters of recommendation, commitment to the teaching profession and passing scores on the PRAXIS I: Pre-Professional Skills Tests in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (or an approved combination of scores on the SAT/ACT).
Special consideration for admission is given to applicants with teaching-related scholarships and to applicants who would enhance the diversity of the teaching profession.
Application
Application for admission to the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Education is provided via a user-friendly electronic admission application.
** Applicants for Spring or Summer 2010 admission must apply using a paper application.**
Required materials (academic worksheet, transcripts, etc.) should be mailed or hand delivered per the instructions provided to complete your application. By submitting an application to UNC-Chapel Hill School of Education, consent is granted to university staff to obtain any additional or missing information as needed, including Campus Safety Information.
Due to the volume of materials received, and the resulting time required for manual processing, the fastest most secure method of application is the electronic application.
**Paper applications are available for individuals who are unable to utilize the online application due to a disability. Requests for paper applications should be made to ed@unc.edu.**
