How does the credit transfer work?

You are only permitted to double count a maximum of 12 credit hours of Pre-MAT courses toward your undergraduate program of study and your possible future MAT graduate program of study.  Additionally, for these credits to be considered, a grade of B or better must be earned in each.

To ensure content is up to date, no more than two years is allowed between the completion of your undergraduate degree and admission to the MAT program. If more than two years have elapsed between your graduation from UNC Chapel Hill and your admission to the MAT program, the program reserves the right to deny the consideration of Pre-MAT transfer credits and require replacement credits be taken.

What courses can I take for credit transfer?

Course content taken while you are an undergraduate is expected to be built on during the graduate program.

Course decisions must be made in consultation with your academic advisor.
