School counseling student Allie Perrotta wins statewide scholarship award

Masters Student Allie Perrotta has been awarded a Future Professional School Counselor scholarship from the N.C. School Counselor Association.

Allie Perrotta, a student in the M.Ed. school counseling program, has won a statewide scholarship competition sponsored by the N.C. School Counselor Association.

Perrotta, who lives in Carrboro, was awarded the Future Professional School Counselor scholarship.

Perrotta is a graduate of West Virginia University where she majored in psychology and was named to Phi Beta Kappa. She is completing her school counselor internship at Salem Middle School in Apex and plans to complete her master’s degree in August.

Perrotta has also worked as a research assistant in the West Virginia University Adolescent Development Research Lab on surveys examining adolescent civic engagement.

She previously was the recipient of the NCSCA’s Graduate Student Scholarship.
