Heidi Schuldt receives Delta Gamma Foundation fellowship

Heidi Schuldt, a master’s student in the School Counseling program, has received a fellowship from the Delta Gamma Foundation. The one-year award provides $2,500 to support her graduate study.

Thirty-six fellowships were awarded nationwide this year. Criteria for selection include scholastic excellence, campus and community involvement and contributions to chosen field of study. Only members of collegiate chapters of the Delta Gamma Fraternity are eligible to apply for the competitive fellowships.

Delta Gamma began awarding scholarships and loans to students in the early 1900s. Incorporated in 1951, the Delta Gamma Foundation awards more than $300,000 in scholarships, fellowships and loans to outstanding members each year.

Schuldt earned her bachelor of arts degree in 2002 from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo., with a major in psychology. After completing her master’s degree, she hopes to work as a school counselor at the middle school level, either in North Carolina or in Colorado.
