2018 Alumni Awards Dinner to honor four on Oct. 6

The 2018 Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner will be held Oct. 6, honoring four alumni of the School of Education. Awardees are Angela Panel Scioli (A.B.Ed. ’93, M.A.T. ’00) with the Excellence in Teaching Award; Van O’Dell Dempsey (A.B.Ed. ’82, M.A.T. ’84, Ph.D. ’91) with the Distinguished Leadership Award; Rebecca Dailey Kneedler (A.B.Ed. ’67) with the Alumni Achievement Award; and, Moise Khayrallah (Ph.D. ’93) with the Leader in Innovation Award. The event will be held at 6 p.m. at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. RSVP to Laurie Norman.

Presentation today explores collaborations between human services, education

A presentation today by Gary Bowen, dean of the School of Social Work, and Dennis Orthner, research professor in the schools of education and social work, will highlight the opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within human services and education. Implications for involving undergraduate Human Development and Family Studies majors in research and human service will be discussed. The event will be held in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Auditorium at noon. A light lunch will be provided.
