Norway, Germany study abroad students blogging

Want to keep up with our School of Education students who are visiting Norway and Germany? Two groups of School of Education students are in Europe, where they are student teaching in Hamburg, Germany and in Bergen, Norway. Several of the students are blogging about their experiences. CEPSA Spring Policy Panel planned for April 14

The Carolina Education Policy Student Association is hosting its second annual CEPSA Spring Policy Panel next Monday. This year’s topic is “Policy in Action: What Really Happens When Education Policy Meets the Classroom.” The panel will focus on two hot topics in education policy in North Carolina: teacher tenure elimination and the Read to Achieve initiative. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Panel speakers will be announced soon. The event begins at 4 p.m. and will run until 5:30 p.m. in Room 104.

LEARN NC’s ‘The Well’ looks at ‘flipped’ classrooms

LEARN NC’s blog “The Well” examines what researchers are learning about “flipped classroom instructional techniques. The flipped classroom is a pedagogical model where typical lecture and homework routines are reversed. Teachers using this model work to reverse traditional classroom routines through employing technology to record direct instruction for students to watch at their own pace and on their time.
