Commencement!

Commencement 2012Every year, Commencement brings a weekend of joy in Chapel Hill.

The School of Education conferred degrees to 322 students this year, with a ceremony in the Dean Smith Center on May 12.

Chancellor James Moeser told the graduates that there is no school commencement at Carolina that is more important than the School of Education’s.

“There are no more important graduates than the people in this room today because of your commitment to teaching and learning,” he said. “There is no higher calling than teaching.  Henry Adams said it best:  ‘A teacher affects eternity; she can never tell where her influence stops.’”
