Foundation Board meets, oversees funds

Harold Lillard Kennedy III

Harold Kennedy is an attorney and partner with the firm Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy & Kennedy in Winston-Salem, N.C. Founded by his parents in 1955, the firm specializes in labor and employment law. Kennedy graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1974 with a B.A. degree in history. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1977.

He has served as second vice-chair of the Forsyth County Democratic Party and as a member of the Board of Governors of the N.C. Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Board of Directors of the N.C. Black Repertory Company.

At UNC-Chapel Hill, he served on the Board of Visitors from 1990-94. His family established the Willie Hall Kennedy Scholarship Fund at the School of Education in 1996 in memory of his grandmother, who taught in Winston-Salem public schools for 47 years. The fund supports merit-based scholarships for junior Education majors in the School of Education, with a preference for minority and disadvantaged students from North Carolina.
