Foundation Board meets, oversees funds

Robena Kendrick Hussman

Robena “Ben” Hussman is a former businesswoman and active volunteer whose leadership and service have made an impact on a wide range of areas, from education to medicine to nature to the arts. After graduating from the University of Mississippi with a degree in business and a teaching license, she worked in the financial community in Memphis, Tenn., where she met and married Walter Hussman, a 1968 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.

In Little Rock, she has served as president of the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of the Arkansas Art Center, vice chair of the Arkansas Nature Conservancy Board, and a member of the boards of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Arkansas Cancer Center Foundation and the Steering Committee of the Heifer Project International.

Based on their strong interest in improving schools, the Hussmans have led educational reform initiatives in Little Rock. In 2006, they established the Robena and Walter Hussman Professorship in Educational Reform in the School of Education.
