Foundation Board meets, oversees funds

Elizabeth Colbert

Elizabeth (“Eliz”) Colbert (B.A. ’86, M.Ed. ’94) serves as the senior director for the Office of Continuous Improvement and Professional Development for Wake County Public Schools. In this position, she coordinates training, workshops and professional development for the 18,000 staff members of the Wake County Public School System.  She and her team train all employees ranging from teachers to bus drivers.

Colbert’s career in education has strong foundations in Wake County where she was formerly an elementary and middle school principal and an elementary school teacher. She is also an adjunct professor at N.C. State University.

Colbert currently is president elect of the School of Education’s Alumni Council.  She also serves as the chair of the strategic planning committee for the Board of Directors of the Loaves and Fishes Ministries in Raleigh. She holds a doctoral degree in education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
