Staff and Faculty Sponsor Families Displaced by Hurricane Katrina

The School of Education staff and faculty sponsored two families who lost their homes to Hurricane Katrina and relocated to North Carolina. More than $1,000 in gift certificates was collected as well as numerous household items, clothing and toys. “The families were overwhelmed with the support and the generosity of the School,” said Judith Meece, professor of educational psychology, who worked with Patty Rooney, human resources specialist, to coordinate the effort.
