Kirsten Kainz highlighted in Education Week story

Kirsten Kainz, a 2005 graduate of the Ph.D. in Education program, was highlighted in the July 30, 2008 online edition of Education Week. She is currently a research assistant professor at the School of Education and a research investigator at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute.

The story, “Fellowships Aim to Nurture Research Talent,” focuses on the importance of fellowships, both doctoral and postdoctoral, in nurturing the professional growth of developing scholars in education. It highlights Kainz as an example of a scholar whose fellowship support is allowing her to spend more time on her research. She is studying the impact of different classroom contexts on children’s learning.
