Fenwick W. English New President of University Council for Educational Administration

Fenwick W. English, Robert W. Eaves Distinguished Professor of Educational Leadership, has been elected president of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA).  His three-year term as president-elect, president and immediate past president began in November 2005.  English’s first major task as president-elect is to plan the national convention in San Antonio, Texas, scheduled for November 2006.  As president, he will head a nine-member executive committee which formulates policy and establishes goals and priorities for the organization.  Founded in 1954, UCEA advances the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the benefit of schools and children.  Its 70-plus institutional members represent major research universities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.  English has been in the School of Education at UNC-Chapel Hill for five years, coming to the University from Iowa State University.
