Six to be honored at 2014 Alumni Awards Dinner on Nov. 1

The School of Education will host the 2014 Alumni Awards Dinner on Nov. 1, during which six Carolina alumni will be honored for their work, achievements and contributions to the School of Education.

Tom Lambeth, who served as executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation for 23 years and has been a longtime supporter of the School of Education, will receive the Peabody Award, the School’s highest honor.

School of Education alumni receiving awards:

  • Cindy Parlow Cone (A.B.Ed. ’07) will receive an Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
  • Elaine Townsend (A.B.Ed. ’12) will receive an Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
  • Carol Malloy (Ph.D. ’95) will receive a Distinguished Leadership Award.
  • Ron Haskins (M.A.T. ’70, Ph.D. ’76) will receive an Alumni Achievement Award.
  • Amy Rickard (A.B.Ed. ’94, M.S.A. ’00) will receive an Alumni Achievement Award.

The event will be held at the Carolina Inn.
