UNC Teaching Fellows Film Series: The First Year

November 14, 2012
Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.

UNC Teaching Fellows is proud to present the start of its first FILM SERIES! The series will consist of periodic screenings that address or represent an issue related to education.  We will seek to critically examine the way education is portrayed in each film.

Our first viewing will take place NEXT WEDNESDAY, November 14th at 5pm in Peabody room 104. We will watch The First Year, a documentary which follows five teachers during their first year in the Los Angeles Public School System. The film was directed by Davis Guggenheim, whose other works include Waiting for Superman and An Inconvenient Truth.  A discussion will follow the film.

This will be a great opportunity to mingle and discuss education with passionate individuals and will serve as the inaugural screening in the series that will continue into next semester!
