Dr. Patricia Alexander"Reading into the future: The challenges of competent literacy for the 21st century"

Educational psychologist Patricia Alexander, a professor at the University of Maryland, will give a talk entitled “Reading into the future: The challenges of competent literacy for the 21st century.” Alexander,whose areas of expertise include literacy and reading, domain learning, and expertise, is a recipient of the Oscar S. Causey Award from the National Reading Conference and the Thorndike Award for Career Achievement in Educational Psychology from the American Psychological Association. She was a 2008 fellow of the American Educational Research Association.
