Gwen Roulhac (M.A.T. '00, M.Ed. '05) named a Durham school counselor of the year

Gwen Roulhac (M.A.T. ’00, M.Ed. ’05) has been named the high school counselor of the year by Durham County Public Schools.
Roulhac has been a school counselor at Southern School of Engineering for two years. Previously she has worked as a school counselor for six years at Riverside High School and Durham School of the Arts. Prior to that, she taught English for four years at Riverside.
Roulhac obtained her M.Ed. in School Counseling. She is also currently a student in the School of Education’s doctoral program in Educational Leadership.
Roulhac earned certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in School Counseling/Early Childhood Through Young Adulthood in 2009. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee of the North Carolina School Counselor Association, and has given numerous presentations on topics such as sustaining a college-going culture and parent advocacy for high-schoolers.
