Charles Coble (M.A.T. '66, Ed.D. '71) to be honored by ECU

Charles Coble (M.A.T. '66, Ed.D. '71) will be presented with an Honorary Alumni Award by East Carolina University on Oct. 12.

Nancy Farmer (A.B.Ed.'69, M.Ed. '70, Ed.D. '81) given Greensboro College award

Nancy Farmer (A.B.Ed.'69, M.Ed. '70, Ed.D. '81) has been awarded the Greensboro College Alumni Excellence Award. Farmer attended Greensboro College from 1965 to 1967 before receiving her degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Morgan's gift continues family tradition of supporting education

The Morgan Distinguished Professorship in Educational Innovations was made possible by a gift of $350,000 from Morgan and her husband, Allen Morgan. Additional support from an anonymous donor, combined with $250,000 from the C.D. Spangler Foundation allowed the University to secure $333,000 in matching state funds for the $1 million endowment to fund the professorship.

John Bemis (A.B.Ed. '95 and M.Ed. '03), a teacher at Cameron Park Elementary School in Hillsborough and a children's book author, has been named "Tar Heel of the Week" by The News & Observer of Raleigh.

Alumna Ami Parker wins guidance counseling award

Ami Parker (A.B.Ed. '93, M.Ed. '94), a guidance counselor at Highland School of Technology in Gaston County, has been named the 2012 winner of the Ella Stephens Barrett Award from the North Carolina Counseling Association.
