Karla Eanes (Ed.D. '05) named principal of Chapel Hill High School

Karla Eanes has been named principal of Chapel Hill High School, a role that she says she has “looked forward to for a long time.” She began her new position on Jan. 23, 2006.

“Chapel Hill High is so well-known across the state, and across the nation, for its academics, its strong cultural program, its athletics,” she said in an interview with The Chapel Hill News. “I’m really excited about not just maintaining it, but improving it.”

Eanes has been an assistant principal at Chapel Hill High for the past year and a half.  Before that, she worked in the Chatham County Schools as a teacher of exceptional children.

In addition to her Ed.D. from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Education, Eanes holds a master’s degree in education and an undergraduate science degree from UNC-Greensboro.
