Faculty Research Overview

>> Simeonsson, Rune

Rune Simeonsson’s scholarship focuses on the assessment of child functioning and development and physical and social ecologies as they relate to health, education and well-being. His research includes studies of the role of school and community environments on school participation of students and analyses of the developmental progress of young children with data collected from the National Early Intervention Longitudinal Study.

Actively engaged in international work related to the development and education of children, Simeonsson worked with the World Health Organization to develop a version of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth. In addition, he and his European counterpart are directing a training project on early childhood intervention involving five European and three U.S. universities. These activities contribute to the exchange of students and instruction as well as collaborative projects and scholarship on relevant universal issues.
