Transition to Teaching: NC TEACH II

Summary

With support from the Transition to Teaching grant, UNC will enhance current services and develop new services, coordinate collective efforts, and extend our outreach to better assist in recruiting, licensing, preparing, retaining and further developing a quality teacher base for the high need public school districts in North Carolina. In so doing, we will increase the number of highly qualified teachers in selected high-need school districts in North Carolina through the establishment of satellite NC TEACH school district-based host site locations; provide access to a comprehensive alternative route online teacher preparation program (NC TEACH Online) for individuals of high need school districts seeking licensure in mathematics, science, and special populations; and develop 4 - 6 additional online modules/courses in mathematics and science content areas for completion of the clear initial license in middle grades and/or secondary mathematics and science.
