Cyberlearning Taxonomies and Synthesis

The main tasks and products of this research project are as follows:

  • Identify vocabularies or taxonomies of terms that can effectively describe National Science Foundation (NSF) projects funded by the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) that have been identified as related to cyberlearning.
  • Outline a repeatable procedure for finding and describing cyberlearning projects that can evolve as our understanding of cyberlearning changes and matures.

It is anticipated that the taxonomies may be used by NSF management to characterize current investments in cyberlearning, by program managers to summarize cyberlearning projects in different areas, or even by policy analysts to foreshadow changing trends in cyberlearning research.
