Alumni Council


The Alumni Council is the governing and policy-making body for the School of Education’s alumni body.


The Council is comprised of twenty-one members, which includes five officers and the Dean of the School of Education. Two faculty members also sit on the Council for a term of one year. The Council has been structured to provide the broadest possible representation of alumni to the School of Education, and to give the School of Education the greatest access to the wisdom and experience of the alumni.

Terms of Office

The term of office for Council officers is two years. The term of office for Council members is three years.


The full Council meets three times a year in the fall, winter and spring. Additional meetings may be called as indicated in the Bylaws.


All active alumni are eligible for election to the Council. The Nominating Committee presents a slate of candidates by February 1 of each year consisting of one nominee for each vacancy to occur as a result of expiring terms of office.
