Patrick Akos

Dr. Akos holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia. He has experience as an elementary, middle school and college counselor. He holds several counseling licenses (NC K-12 school counseling licensure, NC LPC, NC LPCS) and certificates (NCC, NCSC), as well as teacher certification (NC middle grades social studies; 7-12 sociology).

John Galassi

Dr. Galassi holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. He received training in school counseling in his master's program at Harvard University.

Dana Griffin

Dr. Griffin holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the College of William and Mary. She has experience as a middle school counselor and co-director of a family counseling center. She holds school counseling licensure (VA K-12) and is nationally certified as a counselor (NCC).

Robert Martinez, Jr.

Dr. Martinez holds a Ph.D in Counselor Education & Supervision from North Carolina State University. He has experience as a District School Counselor, MAT Clinician and Family Facilitator Supervisor.

Meghan Walter, Program & Clinical Coordinator

Dr. Walter holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida. She has experience as a counselor in adolescent substance abuse treatment and as a school counselor in pre-K - 12 public, parochial, and international schools. She holds school counselor licensure (FL pre-K - 12) and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Clinton Bolton

Dr. Bolton holds an M.Ed. in School Counseling from UNC-CH and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. He has experience as a high school counselor and in private practice, holds counseling licensure (NC LPC), and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). He teaches the Prepracticum (EDUC 608) and sections of Practicum/Internship (EDUC 611/705).

Gregory Cizek

Dr. Cizek holds a Ph.D. in Measurement, Evaluation, and Research Design from Michigan State University. He teaches the Tests and Measurements course (EDUC 609).

Jeffrey Greene

Dr. Greene holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a M.Ed. in Education, Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland. He teaches the Promoting Academic Development course (EDUC 711).

Gwen Roulhac

Gwen has an M.A.T. in English and M.Ed. in School Counseling (and Ed.D. candidate in educational leadership) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She taught English and worked as a school counselor in secondary (grades 6-12) schools. Gwen holds National Board certification in School Counseling and was named the Durham Public Schools High School Counselor of the Year in 2013. Gwen currently serves as Director of Professional Development with College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) Pathways at UNC General Administration. She teaches the College Access and College Counseling (EDUC 752) course.

Yolanda Keith

Yolanda Keith serves as the Director of Carolina College Advising Corps and an Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions at UNC- Chapel Hill. Prior to her current role, she works with the national office of the College Advising Corps supporting operations and budgeting. She has an A.A degree in Business Education from Cape Fear Community College, a B.A. degree in Sociology from the UNC- Chapel Hill, a Master’s of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, and is an Ed.D Candidate at the UNC-Wilmington with a focus in higher education leadership. Yolanda and her team are committed to public service, college access, and serving disadvantaged communities.

Gary Miller

Gary Alan Miller serves as the Director of University Career Services at UNC Chapel Hill. Gary was most recently the Executive Director of the Career Center at Hofstra University and previously held the UNC positions of Senior Assistant Dean in the Academic Advising Program. Gary holds a BS from Middle Tennessee State University, a MS degree from Georgia State University, and is completing his dissertation for the Ed.D. degree in Learning and Teaching at Hofstra University. He and his office colloaborates with the school counseling program to help prepare our students for career counseling, as well as undergraduate curriculum for career development.
