K-6, 6-9, 9-12, K-12 in Various Teaching Areas
Mathematics (K-8, 9-12)
The focus for the specialty area is K-12 Mathematics Education. Teachers who successfully complete the program requirements earn both an M.Ed. and the recommendation for master’s level licensure in the area that they had upon entry into the program (elementary K-6, middle grades 6-9 or secondary mathematics 9-12).
Some differentiation is involved in K-8 specialty course work and, for 9-12 teachers, separate specialty courses are offered. One of the main benefits for K-12 teachers participating together is the perspective they gain on the development of mathematics knowledge K-12.
